ADVENTURES IN SLUMBERLAND

The season opens at the Cincinnati Art Museum with the spectacular visual experience of Czech Black theatre style of puppetry and the adventures of a young super hero.

Adventures in Slumberland vividly brings to life the surreal landscape of the Kingdom of Slumberland originally created by Winsor McCay 100 years ago in his world famous comic strip, “Little Nemo in Slumberland”. Little Nemo introduces us to the astonishing world and characters he can explore only in his sleep.

Come live the wonders of Little Nemo’s dreams as children around the world did a century ago. But reserve your seat soon! Adventures in Slumberland will leave Cincinnati at the end of December to tour the country!

THE LEGEND OF LITTLE WOLF

In January, we enter a long ago world of myths and spirits and explore the Legend of Little Wolf. We meet Little Wolf, a young brave who has been sent on his first Vision Quest. While sitting alone by his campfire, he is visited by a wandering ghost who must leave his mark on the land before he may go “beyond the horizon”. Little Wolf recounts three tales for the ghost: “The Firestick”, a Native American tale from the Pacific Northwest, “Bear and the Striped One”, an Iroquois pourquoi tale, and “The Dancing Drum”, a Cherokee legend. The stories inspire the ghost to find the lasting tribute he seeks; his gift to the land and people he is leaving behind.

ONCE UPON A CLOCK

We end the season in the mysterious world of “Once Upon a Clock”.  Curiosity and a daring sense of adventure entice two playmates, Alvis and Daphne, into their uncle’s clock shop to unlock its secrets. Each time they climb through a magical grandfather clock, they are whisked to a world where they become characters in exciting stories. But fun turns to adventure when they get stuck in the clock. Will they find their way back before time runs out?
